This beautiful 1 bedroom apartment built within the medieval walls of the ancient village of Fayence offers the best compromise for any romantic couple or small family wanting to discover the mountains and lakes of Provence as well as beaches and exciting cities of the French Riviera. Rebuilt and decorated in 2015, mixing the ancient and the modern in a delicate Provencal style, it is made for your relaxation and entertainment and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests.

HISTORY
This historical hideaway built within the medieval walls of the ancient village was used over 1200 years ago as a garrison room for the defenders of the wall and may have been used for the storage of ammunition during the Saracen invasions between the 7th and 10th centuries. After the 17th century, villagers started to inhabit the city walls transforming them into houses and opening larger windows. The outside walls are still over 2 metres thick which provides a welcoming cooling effect during the summer season and makes it easy to warm during the winter.

FEATURES
One of the unique features of this hideaway is the raw and unpolished Italian marble that covers most surfaces and floors.
The living room has a comfortable sofa bed and large flat screen television with access to international channels through the internet service. You have the option of dining inside or use the larger dining table on the terrace.

From this vantage point you can appreciate village life as well as the old stone buildings and look over the rooftops to the foothills of the French Alps. The terrace furnished with garden furniture and a large table can easily entertain up to 8 people.

The kitchenette is small but fully functional with oven, convection cook top and twin fridges - one for beverages and one to store your market purchases!

The bedroom offers plenty of room for storage and the en-suite Italian style bathroom includes under bench laundry equipment.
