Bourgogne is a lovely French region located in the centre east of the country. It is composed of four departments: Yonne, Côte d’Or, Nièvre and Saône-et-Loire. The region is worldwide famous for its delicious wines. Burgundy offers great landscapes with more than 29,000ha of vineyards, 25,000ha of which are listed as AOC. Renowned wines such as the Beaujolais, Chablis, Côte de Nuits or Gevrey are produced in the area.
Dijon is the main city of the region and a ‘town of Art and History’. Towns such as Nevers and Auxerre, amongst others, are also worth visiting. The region of Burgundy has a great gastronomy to offer as well as many monuments such as cathedrals, churches or even castles.
