Brittany Properties for sale

This week our tour of France brings us to the Breton peninsula and the ever-popular region of Brittany. Combining dramatic Atlantic shorelines with charming inland villages and rolling countryside, the region spans the departments of Côtes-d’Armor (22), Finistère (29), Ille-et-Vilaine (35) and Morbihan (56).

Renowned for its Celtic heritage and rich patrimoine, Brittany presents a distinctive blend of rugged coastline, history and celebrated gastronomie. It offers an enviable way of life, appealing to both second-home buyers and those seeking a permanent move. The property market is equally diverse, with everything from traditional fishermen’s cottages and coastal retreats to farmhouses, longères, village and townhouses, as well as elegant châteaux and manoirs.

We hope you enjoy this week’s selection. Next week, we will be sharing our favourite properties from the month of April.

The property sits on a generous 758 m² plot and immediately catches the eye with its granite-framed windows and solid stone façade. Inside, the ground floor opens with a welcoming entrance hall leading through to a bright living room and a well-proportioned kitchen, perfect for family meals and entertaining. A practical laundry room and shower room with WC complete this level. Upstairs, the first floor provides two large bedrooms of 17 m² each, alongside a spacious family bathroom. The second floor adds two attic bedrooms, making them perfect for children, guests, or a home office. The basement contains a useful cellar and boiler room, while outside a 28 m² garage and two brick-built outbuildings, including a newly roofed garden shed, offer ample storage and workshop space.
The property would benefit from some internal modernisation but already has the advantage of double glazing and mains drainage.
The landscaped garden, with its established planting and private well, is a true highlight. It is fully enclosed and offers a safe and tranquil space for children to play and families to gather.
Life in Châteauneuf-du-Faou offers both vibrancy and peace. Everyday amenities, good schools, and local commerce are all close at hand, while the nearby Nantes?Brest canal provides a wonderful setting for walking, cycling, and boating. The town has also become a cultural hub, with the opening of the Paul Sérusier Museum celebrating the celebrated painter and his ties to the region. A short drive away lies the Domaine de Trévarez, with its château and remarkable landscaped park, offering year-round events and visits.
Looking to the future, Châteauneuf will soon host a new water sports centre at Penn ar Pont, where bicycles and pleasure boats will bring even more opportunities for leisure along the canal. For weekend escapes, the stunning Breton coastline is within easy reach, while Quimper and Brest provide access to rail, ferry, and international airport links, ensuring convenient travel throughout France, the UK, and Europe.
This townhouse is much more than just a house; it is an opportunity to build a life in a welcoming town with everything a family could wish for. Spacious interiors, a private garden, and a setting that blends convenience with natural beauty and cultural richness make it a rare find.
A viewing is highly recommended to fully appreciate all that this property , and its location , has to offer.
