Property Description
Immaculately maintained 2 bedroom chalet in the chocolate box beautiful ski village of Samoëns. Samoëns is part of the Grand Massif ski region which includes Les Carroz, Morillon and Flaine. There are 265km of pistes with a big mix of slopes from beginners up to black runs and some beautiful views of the Mont Blanc Massif for good measure. There are excellent ski schools in the village and the lift network is regularly extended and improved. Additionally, the village boasts a municipal skating rink and a fantastic cross country ski network.
The property is about an hour's drive from several other ski resorts such as Chamonix, St Gervais, Morzine and Les Gets.
In the summer, we have lots of activities available such as an open air swimming pool with a range of pools and a couple of slides, airbags, tennis, white water rafting, horse riding, paragliding, canyoning, rock climbing, mountain biking (including a fantastic pump track in nearby Morillon) and of course it's a hiking and road biking Mecca. There are several lovely restaurants, cafés and patisseries in the village and some great little shops as well.
Samoëns is roughly an hour's drive to the Swiss border and just over an hour's drive to Geneva airport. Other French airports such as Chambery, Grenoble and Lyon are also easily accessible and roughly a 2 hour drive from Samoëns.
The property consists of an open plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen and a separate WC on the ground floor.
On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms - one with an en suite bathroom and the second with an en suite shower room.
Heating is provided via underfloor heating on the ground floor and a log burner and electric radiators on the first floor.
To the side of the property (accessible from the living area) is a sun trap terrace with a hot tub and outdoor dining area offering wonderful views over the village and mountains. The property is south facing so enjoys plenty of sun - perfect for apéros and BBQs. There is also outdoor space in front of the chalet and to the other side.
The property was built in 2009 and has since been used as a weekly rental and kept in perfect condition.
There is a large converted garage available which contains a mezzanine and a ski store but this is a very flexible space and could easily be adapted depending on your requirements.
The chalet is in a well managed co-prop with 6 other buildings (a mix of stand alone chalets and apartments) and is next door to the botanical gardens. The co-prop charges include snow clearing in the winter and the shared gardens.
