Location
Chatel is a village in the northern French alps (Haute-Savoie region) loved for having retained its quaint, authentic flair despite its development into a major ski resort: it is located at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski resort, the largest international linked ski area in the world with over 650 km of trails across the French (8 ski resorts) and Swiss (4) border. With runs that suit skiers and boarders of all abilities, it is considered particularly family-friendly. Since 2014, two new lifts now connect the Super-Chatel side to the Linga area for greater convenience. The village is also served by a free shuttle that gives easy access to ski lifts from Super-Chatel to the Linga and Pre-La-Joux areas, which connect to the wider Portes du Soleil domain.

In the summer, Chatel is becoming an internationally-recognised destination for mountain biking with an incredible bike park that adds new trails and features every year.

Between skiing, hiking, biking, the area offers phenomenal opportunities both on the French and Swiss side, as Chatel is the last village before the Swiss border only 2km away. But not just great for adventure seekers, it's awesome for families and couples who can spend the day at the Forme d'O aquatic center, get on the impressive "Fantasticable" zipline or visit the Vieille Douane museum, which presents the history of smuggling in the area.

Chatel is simply a great year-round destination for all who enjoy the mountains and fresh air.

FROM FRANCE

Follow signs for Geneva, exit the freeway at Annemasse, then continue to Thonon and follow signs for Vallée d’Abondance/Chatel.
Nearest train station: Thonon-les-Bains.

FROM SWITZERLAND

Follow signs for Monthey - Grand Saint Bernard, exit the freeway at Monthey (Portes du Soleil) and follow signs for Morgins.
Nearest train station: Aigle or Monthey.

FROM THE VILLAGE OF CHATEL

From the main street, take a sharp left on the Route Des Freinets right before the church. Continue for about 150 m until you see a stone wall on your right and a sign for ‘Le petit ramoneur ‘ at number 235 on your left (there isn’t a sign for our street number yet). Take a right to go down the gravel path and you will soon see two new buildings: our apartment is in the “B” building which is on your right, the “highest” in relation to the valley.

Interior
The apartment uses natural wood to create a cosy, chalet modern vibe. The entrance features a large built-in wardrobe, half of which can be locked to store away owners' belongings.

The living room is equipped with a sofabed that sleeps 2 with optimal comfort on a real mattress.

The kitchen is equipped with everything one could need to enjoy their stay: raclette and fondue sets, espresso and coffee machines, spices and oils and everything in between...

The master bedroom (queen bed) is equipped with a built-in wood-framed bed and built-in wardrobe.

The second bedroom sleeps 2 in the lower bed and 1 in the upper bed, complete with a built-in wardrobe.

The bathroom features a shower/tub, new washer/dryer appliances and a separate WC.

Exterior
The "Loges Blanches" was built in 2017 and is right in the centre of the village. The parking space is located outside, in front of the building.

The 33-sqm wrap-around balcony offers unobstructed views of the Abondance valley and is enjoyable in all weather conditions thanks to the heat lamps, Swiss Army blankets and portable speakers that make it even more enjoyable!

The outdoor table sits up to 10, and there are couches and lounge chairs to fully enjoy the views from all angles.

You will have your own dedicated ski locker where you can store your skis and boots.

Additional Details
The Portes du Soleil ski resort offers more slopes and skiing than you can dream of and some of our best powder days have been spent there.

The breathtaking Dents du Midi on the Swiss side are a stone's throw away from Chatel - along with charm of the village, they made us fall in love with the location and decide to spend so much time here.

Revenue Generation
The property has been rented using AirBnB and revenues have been stable since 2018. Renting can be taken over if desired; the property management and rentals have been managed by dedicated concierges whom we would recommend.
