Summary
This apartment feels so very French - could almost be in Paris! But instead it is in the heart of a charming small country town, shaded by giant plane trees, with the best weekly market in the area and the truly remarkable Musée d'Art Moderne only a few paces away. If you want to be near the Med (3/4 hour by car), near the mountains with wonderful walks on your doorstep, not far from a wonderful lake for swimming (10 mins by car), then this location is perfect. Céret has many restaurants & bars, excellent small shops and on bus route (1€ per trip) to Perpignan. You will never run out of wonderful places to visit, be they in Spain, by the sea or in the mountains. Enjoy our local wines, indulge the local cherries (the immediate areas main crop). Year round there is often music or festivities in the town, which are there to take or leave. Céret is a pearl of the area with very good reason!

Location
Located in old centre of Céret on plane tree lined boulevard within a couple of minutes walk to restaurants, cafés & local shops. On Saturday mornings our wonderful market appears just outside the door.

Access
Céret lies about 10 minutes drive from autoroute A9 and only a few minutes further lies the border with Spain. Our nearest airport is Perpignan (3/4 hour) but Girona in Spain is only a further half hour away.
There is a direct bus service to Perpignan Station (1€ only) for those not wishing to fly or drive)

Interior
Overlooking the street is the spacious living room with black marble fireplace and wood burning stove. Ttwo sets of French windows. Double doors to dining/kitchen - with accent being very much a dining room in which one cooks! The two double bedrooms are situated quietly to the rear, both with access to a long balcony, overlooking gardens.
The large bathroom houses the laundry area and has a Jack & Jill door to one bedroom. The other bedroom has an ensuite toilet & washbasin.

Exterior
To the front 3 sets of French windows overlook the street (only local traffic). On Saturdays the wonderful local market is directly outside - they set up very quietly about 7am and cannot be heard from the bedrooms at the back!
To the rear, overlooking gardens is a balcony running the full width of the house and accessed via either bedroom. To one end is a small lean-to shed which currently houses deckchairs, bbq and logs.

Additional Details
The house comprises 3 apartments: below is the ground floor with its garden and above a duplex on 2nd floor and roof (with terrace). Both apartments are privately owned as maisons secondaires. The management and care of the house is shared (pro rata) between the co-proprietaires with no managing agent involved - so no fees for that. The roof is in good order, having been replaced some 30 years ago. The walls of the entrance hall and staircase have just been redecorated. Renovation to the facade is planned and it is hoped can be done next winter.
