The house is 19 minutes above St Jean de Maurienne or, except in Winter, La Chambre. It is above the Lacets a favourite part of several Tours de France.
In summer the house is never hot and in winter when heated it guards the heat. The pellet stove works efficiently. The wild flowers are abundant.
Access
The nearest airport it Chambery but Lyon is a direct train link from St Jean.de Maurienne.
The Paris Milan express as well as regular other trains pass through the valley below where one can collect a hire car. Italy is accessible through the Frejus tunnel or -other than in winter- by the pass.

The kitchen/dining room is at the rear carved into the mountain but has windows both east and west.
