Access for international travel is very good.  There is a direct train line to central Bordeaux in Vélines - you can be in the centre of the city in 50 minutes, and the airport at Bergerac is 35mins away.  The airport at Bordeaux is a 1hr 10min drive, but you could, of course, keen your car in the garage and catch the train.
