Montréal benefits from being in a near perfect location in SW France. The hilltop town is close to the Mediterranean coast, within easy reach of the Pyrenean Mountains for winter sports, and a close neighbour of Carcassonne with its international airport and superb modern amenities. 

Living in Montréal you will never be bored with the view.  It is a landscape of beautiful rolling countryside and you can almost taste the wine as you watch the hot summer sun ripening the grapes.  Although not a large town Montréal has much to offer. There is a café, bar and a restaurant and a fabulous bakery,  It has no less than 3 outdoor swimming pools, a lake and public tennis courts - all just a few steps away from the property.

The house is remarkable for its honey coloured stone facade and balcony.  It is situated on a quiet street with a wooded embankment on one side and the municipal park just a stroll away.  Although recently renovated, care has been taken to retain all the original character features.  It is a very welcoming three storey home.

The ground floor flows easily from one room to another.  Entry is into the spacious kitchen/dining room (41m²), with a range cooker, fitted units, island and pantries. This leads into the dining area and then into a slightly sunken sitting room (31m²) which has a traditional open fireplace and glass doors to the garden and terrace (30m²).

On the first floor is the laundry room (4.3m²) and the master suite.  This comprises a bedroom (12m²) with a balcony, two walk-in closets (7m² & 4.7m²) and a bathroom (6.5m²).

The top floor is a converted attic with exposed ceiling beams in the two bedrooms (both 11.6m²).  The bathroom is more of a ballroom (16m²) with a claw foot bath, walk in shower, washbasin and WC. Finally we should mention Carcassonne which has an excellent golf course, and offers almost any sporting activity you can think of! There are lakes for water sports, leisure parks and the lovely Canal du Midi for a spot of long boating.  It is a beautiful walled city and its castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.  Budget airlines operate several flights into Carcassonne from a number of UK cities.
