The wine from this region is of poor quality, hence its transformation into brandy, which is no bad substitute I'm sure you'll agree.  It stands on the River Baïse, which at the time was considered almost a port.  You will find medieval cobbled streets, excellent restaurants  and lots of glorious sunshine.  The nearest international airport is at Toulouse (134kms).
