Location:





La Chapelle Thireuil is a lovely village on the Deux-Sèvres / Vendée border.  There is a bar, a restaurant an epicerie and a boulangerie in the village.  The village is also well connected with super-fast broadband with speeds in the village ranging from 8-100mb/s.





The market town of Coulonges is just 10km away should you need to stock up on supplies.  There is a weekly market held here every tuesday and a selection of shops, amenities, restaurants and cafés.  There are also a good number of sporting facilities in and around Coulonges.  Tennis, cycling, horse-riding, swimming, golf and a fishing lake - take your pick.





There is also plenty of leisurely exploring in the area to be done.  Plenty of chateaux, some of France’s prettiest villages and it is also situated on the edge of the Marais Poitévin, a network of canals and waterways, this area if often referred to as the ‘Green Venice’ of France.  If you wanted a trip to the seaside, it’s just a 1hr drive to the beach, and in an extra 20mins, you can be sitting in the main square on the Île-de-Ré enjoying a seafood extravaganza!





There are two airports within easy reach of La Chapelle - La Rochelle and Poitiers, and the drive from the ferry ports is easily done in a day, a 3-4 hour straight drive south and you’ll be there in time for lunch!
