Beautifully renovated 6 bedroom historic Cluniac monastery with garden, separate guest house and outbuildings, enjoying far reaching countryside views from its location near all amenities in Bournoncle Saint Pierre.

This magnificent 12th century property comprises two main buildings, the main family house with 6/7 bedrooms (420 m2), three bathrooms, a large kitchen, two dining rooms, a library, an office, two living rooms, a playroom for the children and a walk in wardrobe.

The second property adjoining the family house within a large courtyard is a former coach house (350 m2), beautifully restored, with a large wine cellar, a tower and a garage. The main part of this second property is open through two monumental glass doors, with a kitchen, WC and bathroom, a dining room and a large entertainment area that can accommodate more than 50 people for meals or other.

The second floor is an open space that offers great potential for entertainment activities, room for game and pool tables, dancing, TV/cinema and much more.

All in all, this exceptional property offers fantastic potential to create a small hotel, gites or B&B and at the same time is a heavenly family home.

Located in a beautiful village, but close to larger cities with easy access to the rest of France and the world.

The property retains much of its history through careful and authentic restoration of a high quality. One to fall in love with. It benefits from soft electric underfloor heating on the ground floor, with the rest of the house having a combination of two wood pellet fires and new generation electric radiators.

On the ground floor there is large entrance hall / reception room, large fully equipped kitchen (33m2) two dining rooms, bedroom (25m2) and large shower room / utility room. The whole of the ground floor has either stone / tiled floors.

The coach house (250m2) has been restored to a very high standard like the main house, with the opportunity to utilise the property as a house or other function. The floors are either terracotta tiles or wood, with two monumental oak doors. The open plan nature of the property would allow the use for entertaining, restaurant / tea room or professional seminar facility to promote businesses.

There is a garage for one car, with extra storage capacity above. The cellar has a capacity for over 10,000 bottles. The enclosed walled courtyard garden, with fruit trees and terrace further enhances the property with the potential of outdoor dining and entertaining.

The property is set on a renovated village square, that allows tourists to walk around the ancient church and Maire building. The village is close to Brioude and Issoire, which have all the amenities required including hospital, doctors, dentists as well as plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Bars, restaurants, cinemas, theatres as well as shopping centres, bakers, butchers and smaller artisan shops.

Unknown to many, except the French nationals, Cantal, Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dome are hidden gems, in the middle of France, with fresh mountain air and unspoilt landscape. In the Massif Central mountains, the volcanic landscape of the Cantal has created an all year round adventurous activity location, from winter skiing, mountain walks, cycling and climbing. Water sports on the many lakes and rivers including the Dordogne and Loire offer sailing, swimming, paddle-boarding and fishing in the numerous rivers including the Dordogne river. Cycling whether on or off road, there are choices from famous Le Tour routes over mountain passes, Puy Mary, or the forest trails and mountain descents such as Le Lioran.

Cantal is a massive adventure playground, or for a more relaxing stroll around a local lake or park. Amongst the extinct volcanoes in the Auvergne countryside with peaceful villages, medieval towns and larger cities, they all provide opportunity to sample local cuisine, where the food has come straight from the local farmers and the surrounding land. Cantal, Auvergne Blue and Salers are just a selection of the fantastic cheeses available, which can be followed on the Route de Fromage. The local historical places to visit, such as Saint Flour, with its Gothic catherdral and to the south Gustave Eiffel's magnificent Garabit viaduct, traversing the steep valley of the Truyere river.

The ancient village of Salers, one of Frances most beautiful villages, offers practical displays of the countryside, from milking the cows to creation of bespoke knifes. To the south of Cantal the capital of Cantal is found, with festivals and eating out establishments is also the famous for the production of umbrellas, which adorn the streets.
