On a site already occupied by the Romans and then by the Carolingians in the ninth century, this imposing castle proudly stands its high facades from its rocky spur. Proudly dominating the surrounding countryside and surrounded by its vast crenellated esplanade, it is composed of a circular keep from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries linking two perpendicular wings built in the fifteenth century, one of which is flanked by a watchtower, a square tower and a round tower. Interior fittings and decorations were created in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. At the end of the nineteenth century, a major redesign was carried out by the famous architect Honoré Vianne for the de Lesseps family in order to make the building more comfortable while accentuating its medieval character with a neo-Gothic style.

Two annex houses, outbuildings including a large vaulted reception room and 5 ha 53 a04 ca complete the property.

With its main façade facing south, the castle has approximately 1,685 m² of living space.

The main entrance to the castle is through a pavilion added in the nineteenth century topped by a terrace.

On the ground floor:

– A hall of 41.33 m². Ceilings with two ribbed vaults with keystones and sculpted bases. On the floor, diamond-shaped stone slabs and black cabochons. A monumental fireplace whose hood is decorated with the arms of the Marquis of Miramon and decorated with the motto in Latin "when the lion holds it, he holds it well";

– The old entrance of 10.15 m² with access to a small cellar in the basement;

Access to the upper floors is via a beautiful seventeenth-century Italian-style staircase with a beautiful wrought iron railing.

On the first floor: six bedrooms, including the "marquis's" one of 130 m², three bathrooms, a boudoir and a small kitchen.

On the second floor: six bedrooms and a bathroom.

Via spiral staircase, access to the third floor, under the exposed roofing framework: seven bedrooms, two rooms of 80 m² and 129 m² and a chapel with its neo-Gothic paintings. The first floor has been perfectly insulated: 40 cm of glass wool on the ceiling and Ctbh sheets on the floor. Access to the terrace of the keep from where the panorama extends to 360°.

Not included in the living area and accessible from the outside, two rooms of 12.29 m² and 14.26 m². The first with a well.

Its architectural qualities, its interior decorations and its history justified the registration in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments in 2004: the castle in its entirety, including the terraces, the outbuildings, the garden with its enclosing wall and the interiors with their decoration, including in particular the large hall, the large living room, the library, the dining room and the bedroom with painted doors.
