In the eighteenth century, Rodrigue-Thérèse Masson d'Authume transformed the castle in the style of the time, before Marie Bontemps, his granddaughter, brought it as a dowry to Charles François Masson, a councillor in the parliament of Besançon. The latter, owner of the Château de Cléron, added the gardens and the orangery to the complex. In 1820, the Toulougeon family acquired the estate, carrying out major works that shaped the castle into its current form.
