The charming town of Quillan is about five minutes away.  It has a number of great shops, restaurants and bars, and a twice-weekly market on a Wednesday and Saturday.  There is plenty of scope for sport and recreation, although rugby is certainly the most popular sport with the locals. This is a great destination for those who enjoy adventurous pastimes, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, climbing and cycling.  In winter grab your skis and head for Ax les Thermes which has fantastic slopes and is an easy hour’s drive.You could even finish your day with a soak in the thermal baths!

Quillan is served by two international airports, Carcassonne (1 hour) and Perpignan (1 hour 20 mins) with budget flights from a number of UK airports.  There is a good coach link between both these airports and Quillan, at very modest cost.  Carcassonne also has a TGV station if you prefer to travel by rail.
