The area:
La Tania is one of the seven resorts that comprise the Three Valleys ski area — one of the largest in the world. The other six are Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires, Orelle, Val Thorens and Brides-les-Bains. It is a family-friendly resort that was purpose built in 1990 ready for the 1992 Olympic games. It is a perfectly self-contained town and has general shops, ski-hire facilities, a post office and a supermarket among others. The resort offers great skiing facilities with superb links to the Three Valleys ski area. La Tania also has a number of bars and restaurants in which to enjoy après ski. The resort has excellent summer facilities and the ski lifts stay open so that hikers and walkers can easily reach the higher peaks. In the town are tennis courts and a swimming pool. Other outdoor/sporting activities to enjoy include mountain biking, various white water sports, paragliding, fishing, quad biking and much more.
The nearest international airports are 2 hours away at Lyon, Grenoble and Geneva. The seasonal airport at Chambéry can be reached within an hour. The TGV station is in Moûtiers, which is about half an hour away and it takes about an hour to get to the motorway.
