Properties in this highly sought part of the capital city are predominantly apartments (studios, duplex, triplex, penthouses etc). Those looking for houses and detached properties often escape to the banlieues (suburbs or outskirts) of Paris and commute using the efficient train and metro services. Due to limited supply and high demand from domestic and international buyers, the price of central Paris's properties remains relatively high compared to other towns and cities across France. International access to the centre of Paris is good thanks to the airports of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Paris Orly Airport as well as the Eurostar and high speed TGV trains. Excellent rail links also provide good access to the rest of France an particularly the surrounding regions such as Normandy, Picardy Champagne, Burgundy, and the Loire Valley.
